INGREDIENTS/재료

Shin Cup Ramen 신 컵라면

1 Egg 계란

1 Tablespoon 큰술 Minced Kimchi 다진 김치

1 Sliced Scallion/Green Onion 파 (green part only/녹색 부분만)

1 Small Pinch Salt 소금 작은 꼬집

Boiling water 뜨거운 물 (amount as indicated on cup ramen/컵라면에 표기된 양)

Step One

Empty the contents of the cup ramen, except for the dehydrated vegetables.

Add one egg, a small pinch of salt, and 1/2 cup of boiling water. Cover the flap and cook in the microwave for 30 to 60 seconds (time will vary depending on your microwave power).

For a gel-like yolk, microwave for 15 seconds.


Step Two

Add the dried noodles on top of the cooked egg. Then add the soup powder packet, minced kimchi, and sliced scallions. Then pour the boiling water up to the water line, as indicated in the interior of the cup ramen. FYI - Adding the kimchi and scallions will enhance the flavor of the cup ramen broth, to taste less 'instant-like.'


Step Three

Quickly cover the cup ramen with the flap. Then place a lid or a plate face down on top of the flap. Doing this ensures that the flap is sealed so that the boiling water temperature is contained within. Then cover with a kitchen towel. Covering with the kitchen towel is an added layer of containing the warm temperature within the cup ramen. Wait 3 minutes or as indicated on the cup ramen instructions.


Step Four

As soon as the waiting time is over, it is best enjoyed if consumed immediately. Instant ramen noodles will easily get bloated if it sits in the hot broth for longer than 5 minutes.

Mix the noodles a few times in the broth before consuming, by pulling up the noodles high to aerate and cool down the noodles for about 10 to 15 seconds. For me, I always start with sampling the broth a few spoonfuls or gulps before I start on the noodles😋
