Soju Martinis (소주 마티니 칵테일) Are Waiting For U: Up w a Twist & Dirty...:-)

If you enjoy Soju and Martinis, well this is a perfect marriage made in cocktail heaven...:-) Soju, in general, is far less in alcohol content compared to Vodka and Gin. Guess what? Because of its less alcohol content, you'll enjoy these Soju Martini Cocktails even more because you won't get so hammered! AND yet, it still has that clean refreshing and robust taste that we all enjoy in martinis.

In this Soju Cocktail Video, you will learn how to make two soju martinis (소주 마티니 칵테일):

INGREDIENT & COCKTAIL GADGET LIST:

Soju Martini Up With A Twist

- Martini Glass

- Ice and water to chill the glasses

- Cocktail shakers

- Soju (Chamisul Fresh)

- Measuring Cocktail Jiggers

- Vegetable/Zest Peeler

- Cocktail Strainer

- Cocktail Conical Strainer

- Lemon Squeezer

- Fresh lemon juice (approximately 1 tbsp)

Soju Martini Up With A Twist Recipe Instruction:

Chill the martini glass with some ice cubes and water. Put this aside. In a cocktail shaker, add three 1.25 oz of soju and 3-4 cubes of ice. Put the other shaker on and shake for good 15 seconds or so. Set this aside. Discard out the water and ice in the martini glass. Add the fresh lemon juice to the glass, using a cocktail strainer. The strainer is to prevent the lemon pulps from remaining in the glass. Swirl the lemon juice in the glass a few times to coat the interior of the glass. Discard lemon juice. Using a vegetable peeler, gently zig-zag across and slowly peel the yellow part of the lemon (until the lemon peel is about 1 - 1.5 inch long). Take the lemon peel and go around the rim of the glass, and up and down the stem. This is to perfume the glass with the lemon zest oil. Shake the cocktail shaker again for 5 seconds or so and pour the content in the glass, using a cocktail strainer. Roll up the lemon zest and drop it in the glass. Your soju martini is finally ready and guess what? If you drink it, it will make you feel good...:-) My favorite part of having martinis is the first sip: That robust and clean refreshing taste...YUM!

INGREDIENT & COCKTAIL GADGET LIST:

Dirty Soju Martini

- Martini Glass

- Ice and water to chill the martini glass

- Cocktail shakers

- Soju (Chamisul Fresh)

- Measuring Cocktail Jiggers

- Cocktail strainer

- Martini olives

- 1 Tsp martini olives juice (if you prefer it dirtier, please add more)

- Olive Pick

Dirty Soju Martini Recipe Instruction:

Chill the martini glass with some ice cubes and water. Put this aside. In a cocktail shaker, add three 1.25 oz of soju, 3-4 cubes of ice, and 1 tsp of the martini olive juice. If you prefer your martini dirtier, please add more. Put the other shaker on and shake for good 15 seconds or so. Discard out the water and ice in the martini glass. Pour the content into the glass, using a cocktail shaker. Add 1 olive to the glass. You can use and cocktail pick or not, and add more olives. I absolutely love it both ways: Up With A Twist and Dirty! BUT Dirty Martinis are so YUMMY when you are craving that little salty taste and the subtle taste of the olives and its juice is such a nice complement to martinis...such a satisfying and happy cocktail...:-)

Where to purchase Soju Chamisul Fresh in the Bay Area & Online retailers:

If you can make it to a Korean supermarket, you'll be able to purchase Soju at great prices. Most will also carry mega-size bottles that are great for big parties. And in my opinion, purchasing a six pack bottle is the most economical. Please see below for Korean markets in the bay area.

Now, if you don't live near Korean markets, you can order Soju from online retailers (check if you they ship to your state). Below are 2 online retailers that came up under Google search. (I have not ordered soju from online retailers.)

KOREAN MARKETS IN THE BAY AREA

(Click on the hyperlinked names below)

San Francisco

- Woori Market

- First Korean Market

Unlike the mom-and-pop Korean markets in San Francisco, the markets outside of SF are GIANT size Korean supermarkets.

- Oakland: KP Asian Market

- Daly City: Kukje Supermarket

- Sunnyvale: Hangook Supermarket

- San Jose: H Mart
