Many Have Asked: Here Is My Skincare Regimen
The GIF above is my kind of at home skincare regimen: Great for my skin and it scares off my family so I'm left in peace and alone in front of the TV...LUV IT!!!
Many have asked what I do for my skin, so here it is. In my opinion, having "healthy skin" does not come in a miracle jar or an overnight miracle rejuvenation treatment. So just like eating "right" and exercising regularly consistently to achieve your health goals, healthy skincare is achieved through consistent care for your skin. AND of course, getting a proper amount of sleep (however many hours you need to wake up feeling "happy") and hydrating your body with H2O are critical steps in providing your skin to "glow." Below are my personal skincare regimen. (This is NOT a skin care treatment advice. I'm simply sharing what I do for MY skincare.)
I use to spend a ton of $ on uber high end designer department store skincare brands as well as dermatologist brands from the doctor's office BUT I finally found a skincare line and regimen that works for my skin and budget. The Face Shop is a Korean skincare company that I have been using for years now. Yes, there are many Korean skincare companies and they are great, too. Some are on the uber high end in $. So here is a list of The Face Shop and other products I use. Please see below for details of my skincare regimen for AM, PM, and Weekly care.
AM Skin Care
- I wash my face with warm water once and then with cold water twice. No foams or cleanser are used. (In my opinion, over "cleaning" your skin, especially in the morning, with cleansers and such will strip away all the natural moisture your skin created while you were sleeping. Now, if I had excessively oily skin, I would use a mild cleanser in the morning.)
- Gently (yes, gently!) pat my face dry with a towel.
- I use a toner (1 -2 pumps) and pat my face with my finger tips until the toner is absorbed into my skin (just a few seconds). For me, this bottle lasts for at least 6 months or longer.

- I use 3 drops of the vitamin C (1 each on my cheeks and 1 on my forehead). Gently pat it with my finger tips until it is absorbed into my skin (3-5 seconds of patting). This bottle lasts me at least a year! I have brown spots so this is great for my skin.

- I use 1 pump of the emulsion lotion and gently pat it down with my finger tips until it is absorbed into my skin (3-5 seconds). This lotion is super light and my skin literally sucks it all up super fast. Again, just like the toner and serum, this bottle lasts me at least 6 months.

My final and the MOST IMPORTANT step: SUNSCREEN SPF 50! In my opinion, there is no point in all these skincare regimen, if I'm going to walk out of the house without any SUNSCREEN (at least SPF 50). If I don't use sunscreen before walking out of the house, why both with all the moisturizers and such...?!? Unprotected skin and sun damage is the worst for my face. I alternate between these two sunscreens (for normal skin type). Both of these sunscreen moisturizers have minimal fragrance smell. It smells very "light."
Long Lasting Sunscreen (one right below) is a bit heavier and thick coating feel. It does have a bit of the "white/pale" finish to it. Not a problem if you plan on wearing cover up or foundation. I use this when I plan on being out in the sun all day with lots of direct sun exposure (i.e. beach, park or crazy LONG hours sitting on the bleachers at my son's baseball games!).

I use this sunscreen for everyday use. It has a light feel to it and no heavy or white/pale finish. AND of course, reapply later in the day, so I keep one in my purse.

PM Care
I use a flat cotton pad and drench it with this eye make up remover. It is super light and great for my sensitive eyes. (I had trouble finding the right make up remover that did not irritate eyes or leave me with greasy eyes.) For me, this is a keeper for my ultra sensitive eyes and it removes all of my eye liner and mascara perfectly! Once all the eye make up is removed, I use the same pad to wipe off the rest of my face.

I use 1-2 pumps of the oil and massage my face and next for 30 seconds, then rinse with warm water. AND NO, this oil does not feel OILY. It has a light moisturizing feel. Then add a pea-size amount of the cleaning foam in my wet palm, rub it gently for 3 seconds with my fingers first before adding to my face. I massage the foam on my face for 10 seconds and rinse with room temperature water. On days that I don't wear make up, I skip the oil cleanser and only use the foaming cleanser. The foaming cleanser, literally, lasts me a year! The oil cleanser lasts me at least 6 months.

Gently pat down my face with a towel. Immediately after, I use the toner. Just 1 pump and using the tip of my fingers, I pat my face until the the toner is absorbed (3-5 seconds).

I add a generous amount of of this cream on my face and neck (a small dab on my cheeks, forehead, nose and neck). Yes, the neck! I don't know about you, but my neck gets dry. Can't have dry neck skin...LOL! I love this moisturizer cream. It doesn't have that greasy and heavy feel. AND it doesn't have that over powering fragrance smell. (Although this skincare line contains ginseng extracts, it does NOT smell like ginseng. Absolutely, no trace of ginseng smell.) It feels light and yet my skin feels so moisturized. I also put on some my lips before going to bed. As I age, my lips gets more and more dry...argh! This jar lasts me at least 6 months since I use it once a day and alternate with the pearl capsule moisturizer below.

I also alternate with these pearl capsule moisturizer. I love this capsule cream! I use these every 3rd night. (2 pearls for my cheeks, 1 for the rest of the face, and for my neck.) Just like the cream above, this doesn't not have fragrant perfume smell. It just smells clean. This has extra brightening agents that is great for my brown spots and evens out my skin tone. This, too, lasts for more than 6 months since I use it once every 3 days.

Weekly Care
Once or twice a week, I use one of these face masks in the evening. It leaves my skin feeling so soft and moisturized, AND it SCARES my kids and husband, and they ACTUALLY STAY AWAY FROM ME! I LOVE IT!!! I watch my TV shows in peace and with a glass of sumthang in hand...woohoo! AND I usually use the mask right after the shower so that I can squeeze out all the excess serum in the package and use it as my body moisturizer. Yup, the serum is so heavenly so why throw away the excess serum in the package. I use it on my body, especially on my neck and chest. Yes, ladies, some of us has to face chest wrinkles, as things are all heading south more and more every year...:-/ . BUT before I use these masks, I properly cleanse your face and use an exfoliant (the exfoliants below are excellent and great deals!) to ready my skin to absorb all the goodness of these masks.
